Waste disposal

Waste separation for a sustainable world

Household waste

Recycling

Each household in Gemmelaincourt has two garbage cans for waste disposal - one yellow and one gray or black.

The "yellow garbage can" is used for the collection of recyclable packaging materials. This includes plastic, metal, composite and glass packaging as well as drinks cartons. It is important to note that only packaging materials that can actually be recycled should be thrown into the yellow garbage can.

Residual household waste that cannot be recycled is placed in the "gray garbage can".

The bins are emptied according to a fixed schedule. The bins must be placed at the side of the road on the specified days. The exact collection dates are listed in the attached document.

In France, waste is separated into different categories to ensure that recyclable materials such as paper, glass, plastic and cardboard can be recycled accordingly. This separation not only reduces the environmental impact, but also conserves valuable resources. In addition, recycling in France also promotes the creation of jobs in the recycling industry and thus contributes to economic development. Recycling is important because it is an essential part of creating a more sustainable future for generations to come. This is why waste is also separated in France.

Bulky waste

Bulky items that do not fit into the conventional waste bins or do not belong there are collected at special waste collection points, the so-called "Déchèteries". At the waste collection points in Contrexéville, Remoncourt and Vaudoncourt, used oil, unused medicines, paint and varnish, cardboard, plastics, bulky items, plastics, wood waste, small household appliances, furniture and green waste can be handed in. Please note that soil is not accepted and the waste collection points are not accessible to tradespeople.
